Few urban addresses in the world offer a panoramic luxury experience on par with The Residences at The Cape Town EDITION. Tucked into Quay 7 at the edge of the vibrant V&A Waterfront precinct, the private portside haven—which plans to welcome residents in October 2026—comprises six ultra-luxury homes seamlessly integrated into The Cape Town EDITION, Africa’s first hotel from the Marriott International brand.
Conceived as a sanctuary between mountain and sea, the forthcoming residences bring EDITION’s destination-driven expression of refined living to the nascent mixed-use neighborhood of Granger Bay, anchored by The Port of Cape Town, the oldest working harbor in the Southern Hemisphere. Rather than a sanitized marina development, the community feels alive; the boats are real, the history is present, and the mood is electric.

Mornings here have a particular rhythm. The harbor begins to hum well before the rest of the city awakens, as restaurants, luxury boutiques, art galleries, and artisan shops begin their preparations in anticipation of another bustling day. For residents, a canvas of possibilities lies ahead: coffee with a view of Table Mountain, a stroll down Sea Point Promenade past public art installations and picnic spots, the Oranjezicht City Farm Market, a sunset sail aboard a luxury catamaran.
Blending the magnificence of the V&A Waterfront with EDITION’s signature sophistication, The Residences at The Cape Town EDITION offer the rare sensation of being both at home and on holiday. Arranged as three mirrored pairs spanning approximately 3,175 square feet to 4,300 square feet of interior space, the homes were developed by the renowned V&A Waterfront development team responsible for the entire V&A Waterfront precinct, and designed by Shanghai-based architectural firm Neri & Hu supported by the team of local consultants. Expansive living areas, private ensuites, and terraces with abundant natural light and stunning views elevate the rituals of everyday life. A warm interiors palette with bespoke furnishings in natural, tactile materials reflects the city’s seaside location.

“We wanted to create spaces uniquely shaped by Cape Town’s mountains and waters, its extraordinary light, climate, and atmosphere,” says Nellie Yang, Associate Director of Architecture for Neri & Hu. “The materials are humble and honest, elevated through craftsmanship and their interaction with the environment over time. Our hope is that the destination becomes quietly woven into the fabric and memory of the city itself.”
Connected to the residences, the 142-room Cape Town EDITION places dining, wellness, and an active social life just steps away with locally inspired cuisine, a rooftop swimming pool, spa, and bar, and a fully kitted gym. A comprehensive suite of à la carte in-residence services is also available—including in-residence dining, housekeeping, spa treatments, and event planning—all executed by a dedicated service staff with a deep understanding of each homeowner’s preferences and needs. EDITION owners also enjoy seamless access to an executive helistop next door, in addition to the highly anticipated Superyacht Marina, opening adjacent to the hotel in November 2026.

Beyond a meticulously curated retreat, The Residences at The Cape Town EDITION invites residents to create a life of distinction in a cosmopolitan coastal neighborhood at its beginning. For highly selective owners, the marriage of EDITION and the V&A Waterfront answers not simply where to live, but how to live life to the fullest.
